NGC graded AU STAR, Strike 5/5, Surface 5/5, a great architectural type commemorating the passing of Antoninus by depicting his elaborate funeral pyre. His successors, Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus also erected a commemorative column in his memory, and the relief base of this moment survives to this day in the Vatican Museum.
