NGC graded CHOICE AU STAR, Strike 5/5, Surface 5/5, “overstruck”, a rare Mildenberg variety (one of three pieces that he cites and the one chosen as illustration); like all Bar Kokhba zuzim, this piece is overstruck over a Roman coin, with some traces of the legend of the undertype visible above the wreath.
