Obv. Head of Athena with a large Corinthian helmet, a rampant griffin ornament below the plume.
Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Nike standing facing looking to left, holding wreath in right hand and stylis over left shoulder, ΦI above ΣB below left wing, monogram in wreath below right wing.
Price 2957 (Side), 3 specimens listed in the Pella database, 2 in the American Numismatic Society and 1 in the British Museum; this specimen from same dies as ANS 1944.100.33216.
NGC graded as CHOICE AU, Strike 4/5, Surface 3/5, exceptional high relief strike and a rare variety.
