Silver Tetradrachm, 17.15 g, 31 mm, a posthumous issue probably minted by Lysimacheia, ca. 260-250 BC.
Obv. Head of deified Alexander the Great right, with the horns of Amon, dotted border around.
Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΞΟΥ, Athena enthroned left, holding a Nike crowning Lysimachus’ name, lion head device on shield, AEP monogram in left field, MUT control in outer left field.
Thompson -; Müller 476 var; SNG Copenhagen 1116 var (same obverse die, slight difference in left field control); Meydancikkale 2596 var (same obverse die, reverse with different M control in exergue, here attributed to Lysimacheia)
NGC graded as CHOICE XF, strike 5/5, surface 2/5, “brushed”, “scratches”.
