Silver tetradrachm, 17.25 g., 27 mm., late lifetime issue minted at Tarsus, ca. 327-323 BC.
Obv. Head of young Herakles right in lion skin headdress.
Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter, plow in left field, Θ below throne, pellet in upper right field.
Price 3034, a coin that according to Price’s chronology comes at the very end of the lifetime emissions, thus should have been struck the year of Alexander’s death, 323 BC.
NGC graded as AU STAR, Strike 5/5, Surface 3/5, beautifully struck and of great historical interest.
