Electrum Trite (1/3 stater), 4.72 g., 14 mm, minted at Sardes.
Obv. Head of roaring lion right, sun with rays symbol on forehead, a diadem-like extension behind the head.
Rev. Two part incuse.
Weidauer 86-89; Traité I 44; SNG Kayhan 1013; Rosen 655-6.
NGC graded XF, Strike 4/5, Surface 3/5, “countermarks”, a specimen with a large circular countermark (or banker’s mark) on the lion’s cheek and two others, smaller, on the edge.
