Bronze 80 drachmai, 19.33 g., 26 mm., first series struck ca. 30-28 BC.
Obv. Head of Augustus right.
Rev. Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, cornucopiae in left field, Π (denomination) in right field.
RPC 5001; Köln 1; Dattari 2; K&G 2.5; Emmett 1; Staffieri 2.
Virtually VF, with an exceptionally preserved surface seldom seen for this series, this piece being the first ROMAN ALEXANDRIAN COIN, struck soon after the defeat of Marc Antony and Cleopatra at Actium.
