$2,875.00

ROMAN IMPERATORIAL. JULIUS CAESAR, died 44 BC.
Silver Denarius, 3.91 g., 20 mm., struck by L. Flamininus Chilo at Rome, 44 BC
Obv. Laureate head of Caesar right.
Rev. L • FLAM[INIVS] III • VIR, Pax standing left, holding caduceus and scepter.
Crawford 485/1. CRI 113. RSC 26.
NGC graded CHOICE VF, Strike 3/5, Surface 3/5, with areas of soft strike, but a nice idealized portrait of Julius Caesar, no doubt anticipating the deification that was to take place shortly afterwards.
