Obv. Pegasus flying left, thunderbolt below. Rev. Head of Athena left, wearing Corinthian helmet.

Good VF, dark gray toning in areas. A very unusual issue where the city’s abbreviated name (ΛΟΚΡΩΝ) is not indicated on the reverse of the coin, although the presence of the thunderbolt and the style leave no doubt as to where it was minted. This is further substantiated by the style of the dies that are the work of the same artist responsible for a specimen formerly in the Pozzi and Lockett collections: Pozzi Collection 1731 = SNG Lockett 2210.
