Obv. “Shekel of Israel; year 2” (paleo–Hebrew), chalice with rim of eight pearls. Rev. “Jerusalem the Holy” (paleo–Hebrew), staff with three pomegranate buds.
Deutsch 18 (this coin plated), the only specimen he records from this die pair (O3/R16); Hendin 6th edition, 6387.
Ex Dalia Collection, purchased from Amphora (David Hendin) on January 18, 2002.
XF, dark, entirely original patina, the sole specimen recorded for this die pairing and a plate coin in Robert Deutsch’s die study of the shekels from the Jewish War.
