Silver Tetradrachm, 14.63 g, 29 mm. Alexandria, dated regnal year 2 (116/115 BC).
Obv. Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis tied around neck. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΠTOΛEMAIOY, eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt, LB (date) in left field; ΠA in right field; dotted border.
CPE II 1504; Svoronos 1660 corr. (Ptolemy X); DCA2–1133.

NGC graded AU, Strike 4/5, Surface 4/5, “overstruck,” “die shift,” exceedingly rare overstrike with a identifiable undertype.
The host coin appears to be a nearly 60-year-old tetradrachm of Ptolemy VI (CPE 1308) dated year 90 (173/2 BC). Parts of the royal name, the thunderbolt, and the koppa (90) date of the undertype remain visible.
