21268. SELEUCID EMPIRE. ANTIOCHUS II THEOS, 256–246 BC.
Silver Tetradrachm, 16.83 g, 29 mm. Issue of Uncertain Mint 30, probably in Northern Mesopotamia.
Obv. Diademed head of Antiochus II right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOXOY, Apollo seated left on omphalos, testing arrow in right hand, and resting left on grounded bow; monogram in outer left field.

VF, overstruck, the undertype difficult to determine, perhaps an earlier Seleucid tetradrachm, whose prominent dotted border is visible across the king’s neck on the present piece’s obverse. The issue is quite rare, with only five specimens appearing on CoinArchives.
