Obv. HADRINVS (sic!) AVGVSTVS P P, bare head of Hadrian right. Rev. COS III, cult statue of Kore facing, stalks of grain and poppies on either side.

NGC VF, Strike 4/5, Surface 4/5, “overstruck,” an engraver’s error where the emperor’s name is misspelled as [H]ADRINUS. The coin is overstruck on a cistophorus of Augustus with six grain ears, RPC I 2212, with the outline of Augustus’ head clearly visible on the obverse and two grains visible on the reverse.
